PING: Notification emails are now better than ever

Are you hoping to draw more eyeballs to your News content? A couple recent changes to notifications are making that easier than ever. 

Up first are image-rich emails. Now, all News notification emails will contain the tile image for your article, giving users more context and excitement for what they’re about to read. This change applies to both “new item” and “Notify” emails, and the images remain in the email for a week before disappearing to save space.

Another major change is that the subject lines of Notify emails can now be customized. This allows you to create a hook that will draw more attention than the default message. This option is available when selecting the Notify option in the News editor.

We’ve gone biometric! 

Typing in your password is so last season. This summer, we added biometric login for Android and iOS devices. 

First, a System Administrator must enable this feature for the organization (via Admin Settings > Governance > Manage Login Credentials). Once enabled, the next time a user opens their mobile app, they’ll be presented the option to set up biometric login. This update makes it easier than ever to stay connected on the go.

Note that this feature doesn’t apply to those who log in with Single-Sign-On (SSO). SSO users will continue to log in via their third-party system.
